About Me
My name is Doug Eaton. I am currently the Executive Director of Admissions for Trinity International University, which consists of four schools: Trinity College, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Trinity Law School, and Trinity Graduate School. Along with my wife and two children, I am a member of Bethel Grace Baptist Church in Bellflower, CA, where I teach elective courses through books of the Bible and systematic theology. I was a regular guest on the Apologetics.com radio show for several years, where we discussed topics pertaining to apologetics, cultural analysis, and theology.
Why This Blog?
God has revealed truths in his word that touch the deepest parts of who we are as human beings. The problem is that many people present them as mere emotionalism that loses its foundation in truth or in dry academic statements that fail to touch who we really are. The purpose of this blog is to explore the Christian experience, but never apart from the truth of Scripture. Exploring experience apart from the truth of Scripture leads to relativism and, in the end, since our hearts are deceitful, leads us down the path of destruction. Likewise, orthodox statements, though powerful in themselves, apart from a heart alive in faith, rarely paint a picture of the greatness of Christian truth. At this blog, we do not merely want to talk about the Fight of Faith; we want to enter it.
