Why bother to pray? I have recently posted two articles about the power of prayer here on the blog, but I also had the opportunity to preach a sermon on the same topic this past Lord’s Day at Bethel Grace Baptist Church. Drawing from the teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, we examine common misconceptions about prayer and highlight its profound impact on our relationship with God.
The sermon provides a verse-by-verse analysis of Matthew 7:7-11. It also identifies five ways prayer can transform our lives, including its power to communicate with God, access blessings, cultivate intimacy, please God, and bring peace and contentment. The goal was to encourage listeners to embrace prayer as an essential aspect of their Christian life, emphasizing the need for a consistent and fervent prayer life.
If you want to explore the profound impact of prayer and discover how it is essential to your spiritual walk, I encourage you to listen. I was encouraged while preparing the sermon, and I am sure you will be, too.
